Youth American to play for FC Barcelona academy

Remember the name Ben Lederman. The U-11 player from California recently trialed in Barcelona for the club and after a 4 day trial was offered 2 years in residency. He accepted and became he first American to ever be invited to join La Masia, the famed FC Barcelona youth academy which produced stars such as Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, among others. The article below states his strengths as a player and a day by day blog of what he endured in Barcelona. His parents will make the move with Ben over to Barcelona where he will begin his career soon. Obviously, Lederman is far from a finished product and there's no guarantee that he'll even make it as a professional soccer player, but his story is very interesting and will no doubt be of great interest to all USMNT fans as they follow his progression in Spain with the best club on the planet.
